1.67 V threshold supervisor for 1.8 V rails
The TPS3808G18DBVR is a single-channel voltage supervisor from Texas Instruments, designed to assert a reset signal when the monitored supply drops below a 1.67 V threshold. That threshold is set for a nominal 1.8 V rail — the 1.67 V trip point gives about 130 mV of margin below the regulated output, enough to catch a brownout before the downstream logic starts behaving unpredictably. The reset output is active-low, open-drain, so it can be pulled up to any voltage the downstream reset input tolerates — 1.8 V, 3.3 V, or even 5 V, as long as the pull-up resistor is sized for the open-drain current capability. That makes it a straightforward fit into mixed-voltage systems where the supervisor and the monitored logic run on different supplies.
Adjustable reset timeout — one capacitor sets the delay
Unlike fixed-timeout supervisors such as the TLV803EA29VDBZR (130 ms minimum), the TPS3808G18DBVR lets you select the reset timeout period with an external capacitor on the CT pin. That means you can dial in a 1 ms delay for a fast-recovering rail or stretch it to several seconds for a supply that needs time to stabilize after a power-on event. The adjustable timeout is a practical advantage when the downstream processor has a specific reset pulse-width requirement — you match it with one capacitor value instead of hunting for a fixed-timeout part that may not exist in the exact delay you need.
