Electronic fuse with 3.4 A continuous rating
The Texas Instruments TPS2592ALDRCR is an integrated electronic fuse (eFuse) that protects downstream circuitry from overcurrent and overvoltage events. It accepts a 4.5 V to 13.8 V input rail and delivers up to 3.4 A continuous output with a ±15% current-limit accuracy — tight enough to avoid nuisance trips on nominal loads while still catching a hard short.
The TPS2592ALDRCR carries a Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND) lifecycle status. That means TI is still manufacturing the part for existing production, but the clock is running — no new sockets should start with this order code.
Package and thermal pad — layout checklist
The datasheet recommends a 2x2 mm pad with at least four thermal vias to the ground plane — skip that and the current-limit foldback will trip earlier on a hot board.
