The Texas Instruments TPS259261DRCR is an electronic fuse (eFuse) that protects downstream circuitry from overcurrent and short-circuit faults on 4.5 V to 13.8 V supply rails, with a continuous output rating of 5 A. Its ±15% current-limit accuracy gives the designer a predictable trip window — at a 5 A setpoint, the actual threshold falls between 4.25 A and 5.75 A, which is tight enough to avoid nuisance trips on nominal loads while still protecting the wiring and connectors.
