The Texas Instruments TPS25921LDR is an electronic fuse (eFuse) that protects downstream circuitry from overcurrent and overvoltage events. Its continuous output current rating of 1.7 A sets the load budget — the designer sizes the PCB trace and the load to stay under this ceiling with derating for ambient temperature. The input voltage range spans 4.5 V to 18 V, covering common 5 V, 12 V, and 15 V supply rails without an external regulator. The ±2% current-limit accuracy means the threshold is tight enough to set the limit just above the normal load without wasting headroom on guardband.
