High-side switch with adjustable current limit
The typical on-resistance is 100 mOhm, which sets the conduction loss at 225 mW at full load — that heat exits through the exposed pad on the 6-WSON (2x2 mm) package, so the PCB copper plane under the pad is part of the thermal design. The switch is controlled by an On/Off interface with a non-inverting input, and the output is an N-Channel MOSFET. No external Vcc/Vdd supply is needed — the switch is self-powered from the load voltage rail.
Fault protection set — adjustable current limit, OTP, UVLO
Three fault protections are integrated: current limiting (adjustable via an external resistor), over-temperature shutdown, and under-voltage lockout. The adjustable current limit lets you set the trip threshold to match the downstream load or cable gauge, which is useful when the same PCB design must support different port ratings. A status flag output reports fault conditions to the system controller. The slew rate is controlled to limit inrush current when the switch turns on into a capacitive load — this prevents the upstream supply from drooping on hot-plug events.
