The switch is controlled by an On/Off input and includes a status flag output to signal fault conditions.
Fault protection envelope
Three protection mechanisms are built in: adjustable current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). The current limit is set with an external resistor, letting you tailor the trip point to the load's inrush and fault tolerance. The slew-rate controlled turn-on reduces inrush current and voltage droop on the upstream rail, which matters when the switch powers a capacitive load like a USB port or a sensor module.
