85 mOhm Rds(on) — the conduction loss floor
The TPS2552DBVR is a Texas Instruments high-side power-distribution switch in a SOT-23-6 package. Its 85 mOhm typical on-resistance at 1.5 A max output sets the voltage drop and self-heating floor for the load path — at 1 A continuous the drop is under 85 mV, keeping the pass element cool enough to run without a heatsink in most board layouts.
Protection suite — adjustable current limit, OTP, UVLO
Fault protection includes adjustable current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and undervoltage lockout. The current limit is set with an external resistor, so you can tailor the trip point to the downstream load — useful for USB ports or peripheral rails where the load capacitance triggers a false overcurrent event.
Slew-rate control and status flag
The slew-rate controlled turn-on limits inrush current into capacitive loads — the switch ramps the output voltage rather than slamming it on, which prevents upstream supply droop. A status flag output (open-drain, active low) asserts when the switch is in current limit or thermal shutdown, giving the system controller a clean fault signal without extra glue logic.
Supply range and interface
Operates from 2.5 V to 6.5 V on the load side, with a 1:1 input-to-output ratio. The On/Off control is non-inverting and does not require a separate Vcc supply — the enable pin is referenced to the input voltage.
