USB DCP controller that stays out of the thermal budget
The TPS2514ADBVR is a dedicated charging port controller from Texas Instruments — it handles the DCP handshake signalling on a USB port so the connected device negotiates a fast charge without data lines. The supply voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V, which maps directly to the USB VBUS rail; if your 5V supply droops below 4.5V under load, the controller stops negotiating and the port falls back to standard downstream. At 155 µA supply current, the controller's own draw is low enough that you can leave it powered continuously without a separate enable switch.
Temperature grade that unlocks dashboard and enclosure designs
The SOT-23-6 package keeps the footprint small — six pins, 0.95 mm pitch — so it fits on a cramped USB port board without forcing a layout respin.
Active lifecycle — no EOL clock ticking
No last-time-buy window, no successor part number to qualify. ROHS3 compliant per the current revision.
