3 A load switch in a 0.4 mm-pitch DSBGA
The TPS22971YZPT is a single-channel, high-side load switch from Texas Instruments in an 8-bump DSBGA (0.4 mm pitch typical). The package is 8-XFBGA, DSBGA — the 0.4 mm ball pitch demands a PCB with fine-line capability and a solder mask defined pad.
6.7 mOhm Rds(on) — conduction loss at 3 A
At 3 A, the 6.7 mOhm typical Rds(on) yields about 60 mW of conduction loss (I²R). That is low enough that the DSBGA can handle it without a dedicated heatsink, provided the PCB copper area under the device is at least 1 cm² per the TI layout guidelines. The switch is non-inverting, with an active-high On/Off input (1.8 V logic compatible). The Power Good output asserts when the output voltage rises above approximately 92% of the input — useful for sequencing downstream regulators or load switches.
The part is ROHS3 compliant and suitable for new designs. Pricing and lead time confirmed at RFQ against your BOM quantity. The Tape & Reel (TR) option is standard; Cut Tape (CT) is also available for prototyping.
