6.5 mOhm Rds(on) — what it buys the power rail
The TPS22961DNYR is a single-channel, high-side N-channel load switch from Texas Instruments. Its 6.5 mOhm typical on-resistance keeps conduction loss under 0.25 W at 6 A, leaving most of the thermal budget for the ambient-to-junction gradient in the 8-WSON exposed-pad package.
Load discharge and slew rate — why they matter for sequencing
The integrated load discharge pulls the output down when the switch is disabled, preventing floating rails during power sequencing. The slew rate control limits inrush current on capacitive loads — useful when the downstream rail has bulk decoupling that would otherwise trigger the upstream supply's overcurrent protection.
