14 mOhm Rds(on) — what it sets for the load budget
The TPS22954DSQR: Its 14 mOhm typical on-resistance means at 5 A load the conduction loss is just 0.35 W — low enough that the 10-WFDFN exposed pad can sink it without forced air, provided the PCB copper pours under the pad are sized for the job.
Fault protection and system features
Built-in over-temperature protection and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) guard the load and the switch itself. The Auto Restart feature re-tries the output after an over-temperature fault clears, which is useful for intermittent overloads. Load Discharge pulls the output to ground when the switch is turned off, preventing floating rails during power-down sequencing. A Power Good output gives a logic-high signal when the output is within regulation — handy for cascading into a downstream converter's enable pin or for a microcontroller GPIO to poll.
