The Texas Instruments TPS22942DCKR is a single-channel, high-side P-channel load switch in a 5-pin SC-70-5 package. It switches a 1.62 V to 5.5 V supply rail and delivers up to 100 mA continuous output through a typical 400 mOhm on-resistance. The On/Off interface is non-inverting, and the switch does not require a separate Vcc supply — the load voltage powers the control logic internally. It is designed for general-purpose power-domain switching in space-constrained boards where a small footprint and integrated protection matter more than high current.
The 100 mA maximum continuous output sets the hard load budget for the downstream rail. At full load, the 400 mOhm typical Rds(on) drops 40 mV across the switch.
Integrated protection — current limit, OTP, UVLO
The TPS22942DCKR includes fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and under-voltage lockout. These three protections are built in, so no external sense resistor, comparator, or supervisor IC is needed. The auto-restart feature means the switch re-enables after an over-temperature fault once the junction cools, which is useful for intermittent overloads but requires the designer to account for possible on-off cycling in the load.
