The integrated slew-rate control limits inrush current during turn-on, and the load-discharge feature pulls the output down when the switch is off.
At 2 A, the 80 mOhm typical on-resistance produces 320 mW of conduction loss. Reverse current protection blocks back-feed when the output voltage exceeds the input — useful in shared-rail systems where a downstream capacitor holds charge after the input is removed.
