The TPS22902BYFPR is a single-channel, high-side P-channel load switch from Texas Instruments. Its 78 mOhm typical Rds(on) means at 500 mA continuous output the voltage drop across the switch is about 39 mV — well under 5 % of a 1 V rail. The load voltage range spans 1 V to 3.6 V, covering core supplies (1.2 V), memory (1.8 V), and I/O (2.5 V, 3.3 V) without a separate level translator.
Load discharge and slew-rate control — sequenced power-down
Integrated load discharge pulls the output to ground when the switch is turned off, preventing floating outputs during power-down sequencing — important for mixed-voltage systems where an unpowered rail can back-feed through ESD diodes. Slew-rate control limits inrush current into capacitive loads, reducing supply droop on the input rail during turn-on. The switch is controlled by a single On/Off input with non-inverting logic.
4-DSBGA package — footprint and rework
