Protection set and what it means on the bench
The TPS2065CDBVR: The device integrates fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, reverse-current blocking, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) — a protection suite that covers the common failure modes in a USB port: a shorted cable, a hot-plug surge, or a downstream fault that back-feeds the bus. A status flag output signals fault conditions to the host controller, and the load-discharge feature pulls the output low when the switch is disabled, preventing a floating VBUS on a disconnected port.
The SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A) is a standard surface-mount footprint with 0.95 mm pitch, compatible with reflow profiles typical for lead-free soldering.
