Dual 1A high-side switch — 70mOhm Rds(on) per channel
The TPS2062CDGNR from Texas Instruments is a dual-channel high-side power switch in the 8-HVSSOP package. The 1:2 input-to-output ratio means a single enable signal controls both channels simultaneously. This part is designed for general-purpose power distribution — think USB ports, set-top boxes, hard drives, and any board where a protected 5 V rail needs to be switched and monitored. The 70 mOhm Rds(on) keeps the voltage drop below 70 mV at 1 A per channel, which matters when the downstream load has a tight undervoltage lockout threshold.
Fault coverage and thermal management
Fault protection includes fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, reverse current blocking, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). The status flag output pulls low when a fault is detected — overcurrent or thermal trip — so a host controller can log the event or cycle the enable pin. The load discharge feature pulls the output to ground when the switch is disabled, preventing a floating output from holding a charge. The 8-HVSSOP package has an exposed thermal pad.
Active production — sourcing and compliance
The 8-HVSSOP package is widely stocked by TI's channel, so lead times are typically short for volume orders.
