AEC-Q100 high-side switch for automotive power distribution
The TPS2051BQDRQ1: The switch is self-contained — no external Vcc supply is needed for the control logic.
70 mOhm Rds(on) and 500 mA — sizing the power path
At 500 mA the 70 mOhm typical Rds(on) drops about 35 mV across the switch and dissipates roughly 17.5 mW — negligible for the SOIC-8 package in still air, but worth checking if the ambient is near the 125 °C junction limit. Built-in fault protection includes fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). A status flag output reports overcurrent or thermal fault conditions back to the system controller.
