Four high-side N-channel drivers in a 32-TSSOP package — what it means for your BOM
The Texas Instruments TPIC44H01DA is a quad high-side N-channel MOSFET gate driver designed for loads that sit above ground — solenoids, relays, lamps, and actuator coils in automotive body electronics, industrial valve drivers, and similar 12V/24V switched-load systems where the load returns to ground and the driver floats the supply rail. Its four independent, non-inverting channels let one device control four separate high-side switches, saving board area versus four single-channel drivers. The supply operates from a single 4.5V to 5.5V rail, so it fits a regulated 5V logic supply or a 5V bias rail from a system PMIC. Each driver is rated for the full junction temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
Active lifecycle — no LTB clock ticking
The TPIC44H01DA carries an Active product status from the manufacturer, with ROHS3 compliance. For a production BOM this means no imminent obsolescence-driven requalification — the part can be designed in today with confidence that supply will continue.
Package and mounting — surface-mount 32-TSSOP
The device comes in a 32-TSSOP package with a 6.10 mm body width and 0.240" lead pitch, intended for surface-mount assembly. The 32-TSSOP footprint is common enough that PCB layout templates are widely available, but the thermal pad (if present) should be stitched to a ground plane with thermal vias to pull heat away from the junction when driving sustained loads at high ambient temperatures.
