Video port protection in a 2.6x1.8 mm footprint
The TPD7S019-15RSVR is a 7-circuit mixed-technology ESD protection and termination array from Texas Instruments, purpose-built for DVI-I and VGA ports. It integrates the filtering and clamping network needed on the RGB, clock, and DDC lines of a video interface, saving board area versus discrete TVS diodes and series resistors. The 16-UQFN package (2.6x1.8 mm) is a fine-pitch land-grid array that requires a solder-paste stencil matched to the 0.40 mm pad pitch. The small body makes it a fit for graphics-card edge regions where component height is constrained by the bracket or heatsink.
A DVI-I single-link interface uses five data pairs (three RGB channels, one clock, one DDC) plus the +5 V sense line — seven lines total. The TPD7S019-15RSVR covers exactly that set in one IC. For a VGA port, the same seven lines map to the RGB, HSYNC, VSYNC, DDC data, and DDC clock. The mixed-technology approach combines ESD clamping with series termination, so the output impedance stays controlled without adding external resistors.
