Four-channel rail-to-rail clamp for HDMI and Ethernet ports
It is specified for Ethernet and HDMI interfaces, where low capacitance and fast clamping are needed to preserve signal integrity on differential pairs. Each of the four unidirectional channels presents a low loading capacitance to the signal line, steering the ESD current to the VCC or GND rail through the internal diode pair. The 25 W peak pulse power rating (8/20 µs waveform) handles the energy from IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 contact discharges without latch-up.
The reverse standoff voltage is 5.5 V max, meaning the device does not conduct appreciably below that rail voltage. Power line protection is integrated — the internal steering diodes connect to the VCC pin, so the array also clamps overvoltage events on the supply rail itself. This simplifies the BOM by eliminating a separate TVS on the port power pin.
SC-70-6 package — footprint and assembly
Housed in a 6-pin SC-70-6 (SOT-363) package, the TPD4S009DCKR occupies roughly 2.1 mm × 2.0 mm of board area. The 0.65 mm pin pitch is routable on a standard two-layer PCB for the four signal lines plus VCC and GND.
