Rail-to-rail steering ESD clamp for HDMI and Ethernet ports
The Texas Instruments TPD4S009DBVR is a steering (rail-to-rail) ESD protection diode array in a SOT-23-6 package. It integrates four unidirectional channels that clamp transients to the supply rails, protecting up to four high-speed signal lines on HDMI and Ethernet interfaces. The 25W peak pulse power rating and 5.5V reverse standoff voltage cover the common 3.3V and 5V signal levels found in these ports.
At 25W peak pulse power per IEC 61000-4-2, this array absorbs the typical ESD strike seen on a consumer HDMI or RJ-45 connector without latching or degrading. The rail-to-rail steering topology sends the surge current to the power or ground plane rather than through the transceiver, so the downstream HDMI or Ethernet PHY sees only a clamped voltage. Four channels in one SOT-23-6 keep the per-line PCB area small — useful when routing differential pairs on a dense board.
Active status, no near-term obsolescence
For production builds that require a qualified second source, the base product number TPD4S009 opens the door to other reel or tape variants in the same SOT-23-6 footprint — check the TI ordering guide for alternate packing options.
