Rail-to-rail ESD clamp for high-speed data lines
The Texas Instruments TPD4E1B06DRLR is a four-channel steering (rail-to-rail) TVS diode array designed to protect sensitive data lines from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other transient overvoltage events. Each unidirectional channel clamps incoming transients to the supply rails, keeping the protected IC's I/O pins within a safe voltage window.
The 14.5 V typical clamping voltage at 3 A (8/20 µs) tells you the maximum voltage the protected IC will see during a transient. Four unidirectional channels in a single SOT-5X3 package let you protect four independent signal lines — or two differential pairs — using one component, saving board area and placement cost compared to discrete TVS diodes. The 5.5 V max reverse standoff voltage means the diode does not conduct during normal signal swings up to 5.5 V, so it does not load the line.
Housed in the ultra-compact SOT-5X3 package (also listed as SOT-563 or SOT-666), this part is a surface-mount device suited for high-density PCB layouts where every square millimeter counts. No power line protection is offered — this is a signal-line ESD clamp, not a power rail suppressor.
For volume commitments or dual-source planning, the base product number TPD4E1B06 covers the family; verify the exact package and reel suffix (DRLR indicates tape-and-reel) when ordering.
