Four-channel rail clamp for Ethernet PHY protection
The Texas Instruments TPD4E001DRLRG4 is a steering (rail-to-rail) TVS diode array with four unidirectional channels, designed to protect Ethernet PHY lines from ESD and transient overvoltage events. It clamps incoming spikes by steering the surge current to the supply or ground rail, keeping the protected line within the IC's voltage tolerance.
11V breakdown — the actual clamp threshold
The minimum breakdown voltage is 11V, meaning the device starts conducting at that level to shunt energy away from the protected line. The reverse standoff voltage is 5.5V max, so the part sits transparently on 3.3V or 5V signal lines without loading them. Peak pulse power handling is 100W, enough for the short-duration ESD strikes typical on Ethernet cable interfaces.
Active and production-stable
This is a standard Texas Instruments catalog part, available through independent distribution for BOM qualification or production replenishment.
