Rail-to-rail steering ESD clamp for Ethernet lines
The Texas Instruments TPD2E001DRYR is a two-channel steering (rail-to-rail) ESD protection diode array in a 6-UFDFN package. It is designed to shunt ESD transients on high-speed data lines, with a typical application target of Ethernet PHY interfaces.
Two unidirectional channels — what they protect
The two unidirectional channels each steer a positive transient to the VCC rail and a negative transient to ground. This rail-clamp architecture keeps the protected signal within the supply range, which is important for Ethernet differential pairs where signal integrity matters. The 5.5V standoff means the diode array sits transparently on 3.3V or 5V logic lines without loading the bus.
6-UFDFN package — board-fit note
The 6-UFDFN package (also listed as 6-SON, 1.45 mm x 1.0 mm) is a very small, leadless surface-mount package. It suits dense PCB layouts near Ethernet connectors or other I/O ports where board area is tight. The part is surface-mount only, so plan for a solder-paste stencil and reflow profile compatible with small SON packages.
