Rail-to-rail steering for Ethernet port protection
The Texas Instruments TPD2E001DRLR is a two-channel steering (rail-to-rail) ESD protection diode array in a SOT-553 package, designed to clamp fast transients on high-speed data lines such as Ethernet. Its rail-to-rail topology shunts ESD current to the supply or ground rail, keeping the protected line within the diode drop of the rails.
Two unidirectional channels in a 5-pin SOT
Two unidirectional channels protect one differential pair (e.g., RX+ and RX− on an Ethernet PHY). The SOT-553 footprint (5 pins, 1.6 mm × 1.6 mm body) fits tight layouts on multi-port switches or industrial Ethernet nodes. Power-line protection is integrated, so the device also guards the VCC rail feeding the PHY.
