Bidirectional ESD clamp for signal lines — one channel, 0402 footprint
It is built for general-purpose ESD suppression on interfaces such as USB 2.0, HDMI, Ethernet, and GPIO lines where board space is tight. The device is rated for a maximum reverse standoff voltage of 9V, with a breakdown voltage minimum of 9.5V and a clamping voltage of 20V at the peak pulse current of 4.5A (8/20µs waveform). Peak pulse power handling is 90W. The part is packaged in an ultra-small 0402 (1006 Metric) / 2-X1SON (1.0 mm x 0.6 mm) leadless package, making it suitable for dense PCB layouts in mobile, wearable, and IoT modules.
The 9V maximum reverse standoff voltage means the diode will not conduct at signal voltages up to 9V, so it can sit on a 5V or 3.3V signal line without loading it. The 9.5V minimum breakdown voltage gives a guard band before the diode starts to avalanche. The 20V clamping voltage at 4.5A peak pulse current defines the maximum voltage the protected IC will see during an ESD event — important for ICs with absolute maximum ratings below 20V. Note that this device does not include power line protection — it is intended for signal-line clamping only. For DC rail protection, a TVS diode with a higher peak pulse power rating and different I-V characteristics would be required.
