Mono audio driver for portable and single-supply systems
The TPA701DGN: Class AB topology keeps crossover distortion low while drawing more quiescent current than a Class D stage, so the trade-off is audio linearity versus battery run time — fine for line-powered or short-duty-cycle portable gear.
Output power and load matching
The shutdown feature (pin-controlled) drops quiescent current to near zero, letting the system conserve power during idle periods without a separate load-switch FET.
Package, rework, and thermal land pattern
Surface-mount only, no through-hole variant. The exposed pad sits on the bottom of the package; a hot-air rework station with a fine nozzle can lift the part cleanly if the board has been preheated to 100°C to reduce the thermal gradient across the pad.
