Class AB output stage and power delivery
The TPA6102A2D: A Class AB stereo headphone amplifier delivering 50 mW per channel into a 16 Ω load — sufficient to drive consumer and pro-audio headphones to comfortable listening levels without the crossover distortion of Class B or the quiescent current penalty of pure Class A.
Protection and shutdown features
Built-in depop circuitry suppresses turn-on/turn-off clicks that would otherwise couple into the headphones. Short-circuit and thermal protection guard the output stage against a faulted load or sustained high-level drive. A shutdown pin reduces quiescent current to near zero when the amplifier is idle — critical for extending battery life in portable designs.
Package and temperature grade
Supplied in tube packaging; the 8-SOIC body is compatible with reflow soldering profiles per JEDEC standards.
