Mono Class D amplifier with SpeakerGuard™ — 25 W into 8 Ω
The Texas Instruments TPA3112D1PWP is a mono Class D audio amplifier delivering 25 W into an 8 Ω load from a single supply rail spanning 8 V to 26 V. Rated for the industrial temperature range, it fits outdoor paging, automotive aftermarket, and factory-floor public-address systems where a compact surface-mount power stage is needed. The SpeakerGuard™ series integrates differential inputs, short-circuit and thermal protection, and a shutdown pin for power management.
Package and mounting — 28-HTSSOP with thermal pad
The 28-PowerTSSOP package (0.173" body width, 4.40 mm) includes an exposed thermal pad on the underside. This pad must be soldered to a copper plane on the PCB to dissipate the heat from a 25 W output stage. Board layout should follow the recommended footprint in the datasheet, with thermal vias to inner or bottom layers, to keep the junction temperature within limits under continuous drive.
