150 MHz C28x core with automotive-grade peripherals
It runs at 150 MHz, providing enough headroom for real-time control loops in motor drives, powertrain, and chassis systems. The 256 KB of Flash (organized as 128K x 16) and 34K x 16 of RAM support moderate firmware footprints with room for data buffers. The 88 general-purpose I/O pins give enough flexibility to interface with multiple encoders, solenoids, and display modules without external GPIO expanders.

Without proper stitching, junction temperature can exceed the 125°C maximum under sustained 150 MHz operation in a 105°C ambient. The core supply range is 1.805 V to 1.995 V, so a dedicated 1.8 V or 1.9 V rail is needed — not a shared 3.3 V bus. The I/O bank runs from the same supply, so decoupling should follow the layout guidelines in the datasheet for the exposed-pad QFP.
