150 MHz fixed-point engine for real-time control
That core speed, combined with a single-cycle 32×32-bit MAC, gives it the bandwidth for nested current-control loops in motor drives, digital power supplies, and automotive powertrain applications. The 128 KB of on-chip Flash (64K x 16) and 18K x 16 RAM provide enough headroom for a real-time operating system plus a moderate control algorithm without external memory.
The part integrates a CANbus controller, two McBSPs, an SPI, a UART/USART, and a SCI — the CAN interface is the key for automotive and industrial network nodes. Sixteen 12-bit ADC channels with a DMA controller let you sample multiple analog signals without CPU intervention. A PWM module and a watchdog timer are also on-chip, so a single-chip motor-drive or power-conversion controller is feasible.
Housed in a 128-LQFP (14x14 mm) surface-mount package, it offers 56 general-purpose I/Os. The LQFP footprint is board-level reworkable with standard hot-air profiles — no BGA reball required.
