C2000 C28x Piccolo — real-time control MCU with functional safety
The Texas Instruments TMS320F28076PZPS is a 32-bit C28x Piccolo MCU rated for functional safety (FuSa) applications. Its 120 MHz C28x core handles time-critical control loops — motor field-oriented control, digital power conversion, or servo drive commutation — without a separate co-processor. On-chip 512 KB Flash and 50K x 16 RAM hold the firmware and fast data buffers for multi-axis or multi-phase topologies. The 14-channel 12-bit ADC and 3-channel 12-bit DAC reduce external analog conditioning, while the CANbus, I²C, SPI, and USB interfaces tie into industrial fieldbuses or sensor networks. DMA and PWM peripherals offload the core for deterministic switching patterns.
