The TMS320F2806PZA is a 32-bit C2000 C28x fixed-point MCU clocked at 100 MHz, targeting real-time control loops in motor drives, digital power supplies, and automotive actuator nodes. The 100 MHz core delivers deterministic single-cycle MAC operations — the limiting factor for a 20 kHz current loop is the ADC conversion time, not the CPU throughput.
On-chip memory and peripheral mix
The 16-channel 12-bit ADC covers three-phase current sensing plus auxiliary voltage and temperature inputs in a typical motor-drive BOM. Connectivity includes CANbus, SCI (UART), SPI, and I²C — the CAN 2.0B controller handles the automotive powertrain bus, while the SPI and I²C ports interface with external ADCs, gate-driver config registers, and Hall-effect position sensors. 35 general-purpose I/O pins are available in the 100-LQFP package.
