Real-time control MCU for digital power and motor drives
The peripheral set — PWM, CANbus, I²C, SPI, UART, and a 12-channel 12-bit ADC — is the standard block for motor-drive and switched-mode power-supply designs.
At 90 MHz the C28x DSP-class core executes single-cycle MAC operations, which directly translates to tighter current-loop bandwidth in motor control or higher switching-frequency resolution in digital power. The 32-bit architecture handles 32-bit accumulator math without overflow management, unlike 16-bit MCUs that need double-precision software workarounds.
80-LQFP package and 40 GPIOs
Housed in an 80-lead LQFP (12x12 mm body, 0.5 mm pitch), the TMS320F28069PNT is a hand-solderable, inspectable package suited for prototype builds and medium-volume production. The 40 GPIOs provide ample headroom for encoder interfaces, relay drivers, and status LEDs alongside the serial peripherals.
It remains in standard production and is available for new designs.
