Its 60 MHz C28x core executes single-cycle MAC and 32-bit integer math, which keeps the current-regulation loop under 2 µs in a typical field-oriented motor drive. The 128 KB on-chip Flash (64K x 16) holds the application firmware plus a bootloader for field updates over CAN or SCI, and the 10K x 16 RAM provides enough workspace for two concurrent PID state machines without external memory.
The 13-channel 12-bit ADC samples three-phase currents and a DC-link voltage simultaneously, while the built-in PWM module with dead-band insertion drives the IGBT or MOSFET bridge directly.
