Analog output and supply rail flexibility
The TMP236A4DBZT: The sensor outputs a ratiometric voltage proportional to temperature at 19.5 mV/°C. Because the output scales with the supply voltage, a stable 3.1 V to 5.5 V rail is required — the ADC reference must track Vcc or the reading drifts with supply tolerance.
Temperature envelope and deployment context
Local sensing covers -10°C to 125°C, while the die is rated for -50°C to 150°C ambient. The extended die rating allows the sensor to survive cold-crank or thermal soak conditions in an enclosure without failing, even if the sensing accuracy is only specified over the narrower band. This temperature envelope suits industrial control cabinets, HVAC duct sensors, and under-hood automotive ambient monitoring where the sensor is mounted on a PCB away from the engine block. The SOT-23-3 footprint (TO-236-3 / SC-59) keeps board area under 3 mm².
Compliance and documentation
The TMP236A4DBZT is ROHS3 compliant with no exemptions for lead, mercury, cadmium, or hexavalent chromium, meeting EU RoHS directive 2011/65/EU.
