What this Hall-effect sensor does on your board
The Texas Instruments TMCS1101A4UQDR is a unidirectional Hall-effect current sensor with ratiometric voltage output. Sensitivity is 400 mV/A, bandwidth 80 kHz, response time 6.5 µs, operating from -40°C to 125°C.
6.5 µs response time — where it fits and where it doesn't
The 80 kHz bandwidth and 6.5 µs response time suit motor-drive current loops. For higher switching frequencies, consider a higher-bandwidth isolated amplifier.
Package and supply — what to plan for on the layout
The 8-SOIC package (3.90 mm body width) uses a standard footprint. Supply range is 4.5 V to 5.5 V; maximum supply current is 6 mA.
Unidirectional — not a bidirectional replacement
This sensor measures current in one polarity only. For bidirectional sensing, use a bidirectional Hall sensor.
