Hall-effect latch in a five-pin SOT-23
The TMAG5111B2AQDBVR is a Texas Instruments Hall-effect latch in the SOT-23-5 package. It switches its open-drain output when the magnetic field crosses the 2.6mT trip point and releases at -2.6mT, giving you a clean digital signal from a rotating or passing magnet. Supply range is 2.5V to 38V, so it runs off a common 3.3V or 5V rail or taps directly into a 24V industrial bus without a separate regulator. The -40°C to +125°C operating range covers under-hood automotive and factory-floor enclosures.
The 2.6mT trip point is the magnetic flux density at which the output latches low (open-drain pulls to ground). The -2.6mT release point means the output switches back high only when the opposite pole reaches that same magnitude — this hysteresis prevents chatter from a slowly moving or vibrating magnet. Maximum supply current is 8mA, and the output sinks up to 10mA. That 10mA limit drives the pull-up resistor value: with a 5V rail, a 510-ohm pull-up keeps the output within the sink rating while delivering a clean logic-low to a 5V CMOS input. The SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A) is a five-pin footprint with 0.95mm pitch. It reflows easily with a standard lead-free profile and is hand-solderable with a fine-tip iron.
