80 MHz Cortex-M4F with FPU — what that means on the bench
That FPU handles sensor fusion or PID loops without cycle-counting — the 32 KB SRAM gives enough buffer for a CAN message queue and a modest RTOS heap. Program memory is 128 KB of Flash, backed by 2 KB of EEPROM for calibration constants or boot-count storage that survives a firmware update. The 12-bit ADC bank (12 channels) samples simultaneously for multi-phase current sensing or analog multiplexing.
Connectivity and peripheral mix
On the communication side you get CAN 2.0, I²C, SPI, SSI, UART, and IrDA — enough to bridge a CANopen motor drive to a Modbus RTU UART link without an external protocol converter. The QEI peripheral decodes quadrature encoder inputs directly, saving a timer channel.
