The TM4C1237D5PMI is a Texas Instruments Tiva™ C series 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F microcontroller with a single-precision floating-point unit running at 80 MHz. That FPU shaves cycles off sensor-fusion math and PID loops compared to a software-emulated float library. The 64 KB of Flash (64K x 8) and 24 KB of SRAM (24K x 8) are sized for a single control or protocol-stack task — think a CANopen node with a USB service port, or a motor drive running field-oriented control on one axis. The 2 KB EEPROM (2K x 8) holds calibration coefficients and configuration parameters without an external serial EEPROM, which saves a board position and a programming step on the line.
