80 MHz Cortex-M4F with FPU — processing headroom for control loops
The TM4C1231H6PZIR runs an ARM Cortex-M4F core at 80 MHz, which gives you single-cycle MAC and hardware divide for real-time PID loops or FFT-based vibration analysis without a separate DSP. The 256 KB Flash holds a full Modbus TCP stack plus a bootloader partition; the 32 KB RAM supports moderate data buffers and a FreeRTOS heap. 2 KB EEPROM stores calibration constants and node IDs without external serial memory.
The peripheral set includes CAN, I²C, SPI, UART, SSI, and IrDA — enough to bridge a CANopen fieldbus to a UART-based sensor array without an external protocol converter.
