80 MHz Cortex-M4F with floating-point — what it buys you
The TM4C1231D5PMT7R is a Texas Instruments Tiva C series 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F MCU clocked at 80 MHz. The single-cycle multiply-accumulate and single-precision FPU let it handle sensor fusion, motor-control PID loops, or audio-level signal conditioning without a separate DSP. The 64 KB Flash and 24K x 8 RAM are sized for a single firmware image with a modest heap — think CANopen node, I²C sensor hub, or a UART-to-CAN gateway. The 2K x 8 EEPROM stores calibration constants and node ID without wearing the Flash.
The 64-LQFP (10x10 mm) package supports reflow assembly. Supply range is 1.08 V to 3.63 V.
