The TM4C1230E6PMI7 runs an ARM Cortex-M4F core at 80 MHz with a single-precision floating-point unit. That FPU is the differentiator versus a plain M4: PID coefficients, FFT bins, and sensor fusion quaternions stay in hardware rather than eating cycles in a software library. For a motor drive or a multi-axis controller, that buys you tighter loop times or headroom for additional comms stack overhead.
Program memory is 128 KB Flash with 32K x 8 SRAM plus 2K x 8 EEPROM.
Industrial temperature grade and on-chip peripherals
The peripheral set covers CAN, I²C, SPI, SSI, UART, and IrDA — enough to talk to a VFD over CANopen, poll temperature sensors over I²C, and push data up a serial link without external UART chips.
