The open-drain output lets multiple supervisors share a common pull-up resistor for a wired-OR reset scheme — useful in multi-rail systems where any undervoltage condition must force a system-wide reset.

The 5-X2SON package measures 0.8mm x 0.8mm — the supplier device package is 5-X2SON (0.8x0.8) — making it one of the smallest supervisor footprints available. The 4-XFDFN exposed pad package provides a thermal path to the PCB copper pour; for a low-power supervisor drawing microamps, the thermal pad is more about mechanical stability than heat dissipation. Surface-mount assembly with the 0.8mm x 0.8mm body means the PCB land pattern must match the X2SON footprint precisely — the package has no leads, only solderable pads on the bottom.
