Automotive LDO for 1.5V point-of-load rails
The TLV73315PQDRVRQ1 is a fixed 1.5V output LDO from Texas Instruments, rated for 300 mA continuous output. Dropout voltage is 0.4 V max at the full 300 mA load, so a 5V input rail needs to stay above 1.9V to keep the output in regulation. The 62 µA quiescent current is low enough for always-on modules that draw a few milliamps in sleep mode — the LDO's own consumption won't dominate the battery drain budget.
PSRR profile and noise rejection across the switching band
Power-supply rejection ratio is 68 dB at 100 Hz, dropping to 28 dB at 100 kHz. That 40 dB roll-off across two decades means the LDO attenuates 100 Hz ripple from a rectified line well, but upstream switching noise above 100 kHz — from a buck converter running at 400 kHz or 2 MHz — passes through with only about 28 dB of rejection. If the downstream load is an analog sensor or ADC reference, an input LC filter ahead of this LDO cleans up the high-frequency noise the regulator cannot suppress. Protection features include current limit, thermal shutdown, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). The UVLO threshold prevents the output from sourcing current when the input rail droops below the minimum operating voltage, which avoids the regulator trying to regulate with insufficient headroom and then heating up.
