Precision shunt reference for tight-regulation loops
The TLV431BQDBVR is an adjustable shunt voltage reference from Texas Instruments, with a minimum output of 1.24 V and a ±0.5% tolerance that holds the regulation band tight across temperature. It is a three-terminal device — cathode, anode, and reference — that behaves like a low-temperature-coefficient Zener when the reference pin is tied to the output, or as a programmable shunt when a resistor divider sets the voltage up to 6 V.
Industrial temperature range and output drive
The shunt can sink up to 15 mA continuous, enough to bias an optocoupler in a flyback feedback loop or pull down a supervisory reset line.
