Precision shunt reference in a TO-92 body
The Texas Instruments TLV431BILPR is a low-voltage, three-terminal adjustable shunt regulator that delivers a ±0.5% reference tolerance — the tightest bin in the TLV431 family. That tolerance matters when you are setting a supply rail or an error amplifier threshold and cannot afford the 1% drift of the standard grade. Output voltage is adjustable from 1.24 V up to 6 V using two external resistors, with a maximum cathode current of 15 mA. The 100 µA minimum cathode current keeps it biased properly even in low-load conditions.
Through-hole package for field swaps
Housed in a TO-226-3 / TO-92-3 (TO-226AA) with formed leads, this is a socket-friendly, hand-solderable package. No hot-air station needed — if you are doing a field repair on a power supply or a battery charger board, you can swap this part with a standard iron and a pair of flush cutters.
