Product details

Automotive LIN physical layer, AEC-Q100 Grade 0

The TLIN2021ADRBRQ1 is a single-wire LIN transceiver from Texas Instruments, designed for automotive body-electronics networks. It operates as a half-duplex 1/1 driver/receiver at data rates of 20 kbps and 100 kbps, compliant with the LIN protocol. Qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 0, the part is specified over a junction temperature range of -40°C to +150°C — this covers under-hood and engine-adjacent environments where ambient temperatures exceed the standard 125°C automotive grade. The 4.5 V to 45 V supply range handles both nominal 12 V battery and load-dump transients without an external clamp.

500 mV receiver hysteresis and wettable-flank SON

The receiver includes 500 mV of hysteresis, filtering noise on the LIN bus and reducing false edge triggers from coupled transients in the harness. This is a practical margin for a shared bus running through the vehicle's wiring bundle. Housed in an 8-VDFN exposed-pad package (8-SON, 3x3 mm) with wettable flanks, the part supports automated optical inspection (AOI) of the solder joints after reflow — a requirement for automotive production lines that cannot rely on X-ray alone. The exposed pad provides a low-thermal-resistance path to the PCB copper plane.
