Dual 555 timer in a 14-SOIC — the parametric fit for a timing BOM line
The TLC556IDR packs two independent 555-type timer/oscillator stages into a single 14-SOIC package, running up to 2.1 MHz from a 3 V to 18 V supply rail. At 720 µA typical supply current, the dual timer draws less than many single 555 bipolar parts — the LinCMOS process keeps the quiescent power low enough for battery-backed timing chains where every microamp counts.
Package and board-fit — SOIC-14 rework and footprint notes
14-SOIC (0.154" body width, 3.90 mm) with a 1.27 mm pitch — the standard SOIC footprint that reflows on a standard profile and inspects under visible light without X-ray. The supplier device package is 14-SOIC; no exposed pad means no thermal-via array under the part, so a two-layer board handles the routing for most timing circuits.
Lifecycle and compliance — active, RoHS3, no PCN watch needed
RoHS3 compliant, so it ships into EU and UKCA markets without an exemption expiry date to track.
