The TLC555CD is a LinCMOS 555-type timer/oscillator from Texas Instruments, operating up to 2.1 MHz while drawing only 360 µA typical supply current — roughly one-tenth the quiescent draw of a standard bipolar 555, making it a direct fit for battery-powered or thermally constrained boards where every milliamp matters.
The typical supply current is 360 µA at 25°C — about 10× lower than a standard bipolar 555, which draws several milliamps. This low quiescent current is the main reason to choose the LinCMOS version over the classic NE555 in low-power or battery-operated designs.
The TLC555CD can oscillate up to 2.1 MHz in astable mode.
